Mission
AVID’s mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.
AVID Class Description:
AVID is an elective class for students who are serious about succeeding in high school, and college. Our goal is to provide students with the support to thrive in any curriculum and course they desire to take through developing and practicing useful academic skills. AVID methodologies focus on writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading.
Several benefits await prospective AVID students. AVID is a “class community” composed of peers, teachers and tutors geared towards encouraging academic and personal success. We have created an encouraging community environment to allow a consistent source of support for all years of high school. AVID teachers coach students through course selection, high stakes test preparation, and college applications.
