Gregori High School Important Information
Dear Gregori Parents/Guardians:
This message is specific for families who had students on campus between October 5-9, 2020.
The health and safety of our students and staff are our top priority. This letter is to inform you that several Gregori staff have recently tested positive for COVID-19. The last date of known exposure on campus was October 9, 2020. At this time, no students have tested positive in conjunction with these staff cases.
In an abundance of caution and to slow down the spread of COVID-19, the District has decided to close Gregori for 14-days effective Tuesday, October 13, through Sunday, October 25. This means no staff, teachers or students will be allowed on-site during this time. Teachers, staff, learning hub students and any students engaging in athletics or cheer conditioning can return to campus on Monday, October 26. While the site is physically closed, a deep cleaning and sanitization process will take place.
In the meantime, all staff will work from home during the quarantine period, and the students in the learning hubs will resume distance learning during the same timeframe. Classes will not be interrupted in any way. For our learning hub students, it is very important that they continue to apply themselves to the lessons and engage with their teachers while they are distance learning, and we look forward to welcoming them back on campus on Monday, October 26.
During the school closure, meals will continue to be distributed as scheduled and tech help will be open in the usual locations in the parking lot.
NOTE: If your student develops COVID-like symptoms or you become sick, you should contact a healthcare provider so that they can be evaluated and get tested immediately. If your student does not have symptoms and they remain well, you can still check with your healthcare provider if you would like to schedule a COVID-19 test for them as a precaution. If you do not have a healthcare provider, additional FREE testing resources are available through Stanislaus County at http://schsa.org/publichealth/pages/corona-virus/. Remember your student must stay at home the full 14 days even if your COVID test is negative. COVID-19 symptoms may include the following:
mild, cold like symptoms
fever higher than 100.4 degrees (F)
shortness of breath
loss of taste or smell
We will contact you to obtain, or provide you with, any additional information, as appropriate. I’m also here for you if you have any additional questions or concerns. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in working together to keep our teachers, staff and students safe during this challenging time.
